History of Edgewood

Edgewood was established in the 1950s, during a time of rapid growth in Fort Lauderdale. The neighborhood was developed as a suburban community, offering affordable housing options for families who were moving to the area to take advantage of the city’s growing job opportunities. Many of the homes in Edgewood were built in the mid-century modern style, which was popular at the time.
